One thing that didn't really come through from the previous photos was the amount of room we had to maneuver once we got the boat OUT of the shop.  Hmmm, it looks ok from this perspective.

But then, there was this Fort, you see.  And they put it Right Next to our shop.

A little close there...

And, woah, close to the museum too.

And now, she's got a little more sea room!

This will be her location until she's launched, right out in front in the IYRS parking lot.  The ballast keel has been moved up close to her now.

It's sitting on a heavy duty cart that can roll up under the boat on a pair of 2x12's.

At almost 3 tons, you don't want to fool around with this thing.  It looks docile enough, but if it falls on you, that's the end of your career.  Maybe all your careers.

Cherokee's deck has been given a number of coats of sealer for extra protection from the elements until she's canvassed.  It's almost a shame to cover that beautiful wood...

She's well tarped every night

So, now for the final push to get her ready to go by the end of May.  It should be a quiet madhouse out there in the lot for the next month.
