The big question that we answer frequently comes after people look at the boat for a minute.  Imagine that you've just entered the shop space in the museum.

You look around at the space, and at this big, long boat sitting right there in the middle of it.

It's a nice space, lots of light from all the windows.  In fact, lots and lots of windows.  Here's how it looks without that big boat in the way.

More windows than doors, in fact.  That's when it dawns on them, "How do you get that boat out of here???"

Good question.  We asked the same one ourselves, and David ASSURED US that we'd get it out through the side door.  The ones over there on the left.

Yes, those doors.

He's measured the room carefully, and if we scoot the boat (all 3,000 pounds of her) into the corner, and remove the doors and all the wood framing around them, we'll be able to just get it through.  Along the way we'll move these inconvenient posts and put in temporary posts in their place as we gradually maneuver the boat over to the opening.

Oh, when this gal leaves the shop, there will be many photos.  It's going to be a great blog entry, I promise you.

And if she doesn't fit, well, we can always write a story about her.  I've got some ideas from another book...

Since Mike Mulligan and MaryAnne were my heros when I was 6, and this was a book that both my boys loved, this entry hit home all they way around! But since it would be a shame not to sail Cherokee, lets all hope the measurements are correct! Nice job everyone, she looks great.
